I put this to Dimad via email but I'd like to hear other people's views on the idea.
These suggestions are designed to reduce the number of steps in processing DVDs and to save on both time and HD space.
1) Integrate deCSS into DRMP. Shrink has this (without being assaulted by MPAA!!) and can hence rip a disk direct whilst shrinking it and save making 2 passes (one for DVDDecrypter and one to Shrink removing languages).
2) Integrate language/sub removal Since DRMP is useful for editting menus to remove the option to select languages this makes sense. Again it saves on HD space and time. If combined with #1 then the end result would either be a disk ready to burn just via stripping bits or after a minor Shrink or (if DRMP indicated the disk would be still quite large) then the result would be pre-processed files ready for DVD-Rb.
3) Produce an ISO image as an option. Lots of people like burning ISO image rather than VOBs. Would be a nice option. Not necessary tho!
Any views?
