View Full Version : gordian crash if not allowed to access the net!?

hi,i have a problem with gordian knot rip pack 28.7...i have changed pc i buy a p4 prescott 3.4,mboard abit ic7-max3,2 gb of ram ddr pc3200 kingston dual channel,2 sata 250gb,abit radeon 9200se ....os win xp sp1 pro

i use firewall sygate and antivir nod32...and have a lan connection to the net...my firewall when i set the codec configurations(pass bitrate)and audio configuration...give me a strange message :

if i reply no gordian crash...if i reply yes another message is displayed...but with a windows dll module application if ask to accass to the net wuth port 80(but to site of divx)...if i reply yes ok,if not crash another time...

i have installed and use codec divx 5.2.1...

(sorry for my english,i hope you understand)

It is DivX that is attempting to connect to the network, from inside GKnot. By default, there are two options checked:Rotate artwork and product information
Always check for new version at startupIf you clear these two options, DivX should no longer attempt to reach its servers.

To clear these options, use the GKnot Options tab, and the DivX 5 "First Pass" buttons to open the DivX Encoder GUI. Click "Settings" in the lower left corner, and make sure these options are unchecked. You should, after saving, also check them in "Nth Pass" and "Credits" too.

ok,tankz...

if i set my firewall to allow access to the net auto gordian start encoding..but sometime when i set first pass second pass,audio options crash ...it is the same problem?

i have only to clear these two options?, (Rotate artwork and product
information Always check for new version at startup)

or this is another problem?

hi,i have set the options but now i have the same problem when i make 3 pass,if i set only 2 pass it's ok but with 3pass gordian crash...


2nd question:i have another windows of sygate firewall that ask me if virtualdub can send a icmp type11 packet to 2.12.2.65 it's normal?i select to not allowed this process...but i don't' understand because gordian do this actions and problems only with my new pc....

Internet connection has to be disabled in first, Nth and last pass settings (not just once). Alternatively you can get pre-release version of GK 0.33 from development forum (last page of 0.32 thread) and it will take care of disabling connection on its own.

ok,but with the 0.33.1 versions wich options i have to disable to block internet connectios?
it's all default in the 0.33 the block of internet connections?or i have to change some other options?

yes, you don't have to change it manually.
