Hy,

I use IC8 (with WinXP SP2) for DVD re-authoring. To preserve the video quality, I only keep the main movies (without bonus) with the settings "Best video quality". The soft targets a 4.32 GB file, but finally generates a file of about 3 GB (sometimes more, sometimes less).

Have you already observed this? I asked Pinnacle support, but no answer!

I hoped this bug would be fixed with last update... no way!

Thanks

have you searched about this ? i guess not since its been mentioned 100 times here before.

download the hidden settings editor in the "IC 8.3.0.8 hidden settings" post. run it. increase the "minimum analysis by size" to 200MB or more and the "maximum analysis by percent" to something like 33%. now most dvd should be closer to target size. though from what everyone has done before and my freinds(who uses IC) experience most will be about 4.2GB give or take and a few it will not matter what you do they will be undersized.

it seems to be because IC only analyses the first part of the video so if the second half changes greatly then that is not taken in to account. Escape From NewYork is a good example. the first part of the movie is very dark while later it isnt. my freind got a 3.2GB with that even with the above settings so he just used dvd shrink for that movie in the end. the majority of the ones he has done though range from 4.2GB to 4.3GB so close enough to not make a huge difference.
