Remove (strip?) a title

i'm a newbie... :(
i want to remove (strip?) a title on a dvd. It contains a broken video of 1 minute (i don't know what it is: i can't see it!). It starts immediately after the Copyright warning at the beginning of the dvd. It seems that the dvd still works, even if i can't see this section.
I use ifoedit and vobrator to know that it is contained only in the 3d TitleSet, VTS_03_*.* files, and this TitleSet contains only this title. There are only 3 Title Set, the 2nd is the movie, and the 1st contains 2 logos (one of them is the Copyright warning above). Isn't strange that the 3rd Title Set is played before the 2nd and the 1st one? I can imagine that with specific instructions on the video_ts_.ifo file this can happen, but why then it is on the last VOB?

How can i remove this title? i prefer to remove it, instead of bypassing it. Is it possible?
1st i try to simply remove the file VTS_03_1.vob,VTS_03_0.ifo,VTS_03_0.bup from the Video_TS folder. But if i do so (i read it on http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/menuidiot.html) it doesn't work (i check it with power dvd before burning it).

I would appreciate if you can help me, or tell me which guides i have to look for.


ah, the movie is Donnie Darko (not the director's cut). The dvd-r is made by dikwad.

You can remove the whole titleset with:
- pgcedit (load dvd, then select the right titleset, and use 2COOL's guide:

- vobblanker (I don't have a guide but it should be fairly easy)
- titlesetblanker. Probably the easier solution (that's all the program does, so the UI is simple). Load the DVD, click on the titleset you want remove, click "Blank", done.

Titlesets can be played in any arbitrary order, parts of titlesets can be played in any order. The DVD specs are very flexible in that regard, which makes understanding the whole thing a bit difficult at first. A good tool for that is pgcedit in trace mode: load up you DVD and start the "trace playback". You'll see commands execute and you can watch the navigation to from place to place in your DVD: copyright warning, then jumping to the titleset you don't want, then the movie/menu etc...

i don't understand a thing: i'm checking with dvdshrink the structure of the dvd. There are 4 menu under Title Menu/English. I can't make a preview of them so i can't know what they contain.
There are only 4 Title: Title 1, 2, 3 and 5... why the 4 is missing? maybe the ripper has discarded it from the original dvd?

You have to understand that you are not working with a commercial DVD. You mentioned it was dikwad's backup DVD There's too many factor left for errors.

Try unchecking your "Combined shared titles" option in View. Or maybe it's in your Unreferenced materials folder.

Another things: i have a problem when i use the delete playback function of ifoedit 0.971 . I use the guide here : http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/rcopy.html
After that i save the ifo file and when i click on dvd play on ifoedit it says "an illegal navigation command has encountered".
But if i use power dvd i have no problem...
This before the burning process, of course.

In any case, it's probably easier (and safer) to skip playback using pgcedit, as it's designed to handle most special cases...

I used pgcedit as you told me before to remove a TitleSet. And it works fine.
But if i want to remove a single title inside a Titleset (the Copyright warning, for example), can i still use pgcedit or one of the other program above? or i have to follow 2cool guide here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48566

well yes, but it depends on what you're trying to achieve

- If you want to reclaim the space taken by the stuff you want to get rid of, then vobblanker is the answer. The downside is that it takes a little while (because the VOB file has to be rewritten).
- If you don't care about the space, then PgcEdit can do it. Just select the PGC of the title you want to skip and then hit the "kill playback" icon in the toolbar (or hit the "Macro/Kill PGC Playback" menu.
