Output in CCE is a MPV? NOT MPEG?

I just got a trial on cd, its CCE SP 2.67 0027 vesrion with 30day trial with a logo if i encode anyting. I follow the guides on the main site but whatever i do, my output file that this prog makes is not a mpeg 2 file that i can use on tmpeg author to make my own dvds. My imput file a .avi file and the final product is a MPV file with a VAF file. The MPV file i can open in WMP but there no sound. Can this prog make the output a mpeg with both vid and sound on it? I hear this is the best prog for that job but i cant seem to get it wokring! :(
Its very fast too, i got tmpeg and that takes 1hr and it comes out perfect with a mpeg (sound.vid) while CCE is VERY FAST 5mins, but doesnt come out wif a MPEG file.
PLease gentle, i am a noob and even though i hav tried the guides , google and search function i cant seem to find an answer.

There are plenty of programs for creating the audio track, check BeSweet and BeLight for GUI. You'll have to demux the track from the avi (you can do this with VirtualDubMod for example) and convert it to either MP2 or AC3, unless the track already is either one of them. I wouldn't use CCE for encoding the audio in any case.

Can someone plz explain to me? Ok if i enocde the audio myself, how do i make the MPV output a MPEG instead??

You don't need to have a MPG file to author. You'll input the mpv file (video) and mp2 or ac3 file to the authoring program.

also understand that .mpv, .m2v are mpeg files...they just have different extensions...you can also simply change the extensions by renaming but it isnt nessassary...as for audio encoding, CCE can encode mpeg audio but mpeg audio isn't support in every NTSC and PAL Australia players but it is by European PAL players and CCE isn't the best audio encoder. you should use a different program for audio encodes, yes BeSweet can encode .ac3 files but is isn't a Dolby Licensed product so the sound may not play right, if at all in your DVD player. Vegas is a very good program for encoding .ac3 files. hope this helps

Thnks. I was so confused but i sorted it out! thnks ! wait..my dvd burner came with a software, and the dvd burner box had a sticker saying "AC3 encoder included!". The programs that came with my dvd burner was TMPEG 2.5 LIGHT and UNLEAD DVD MOIVE FACTORY. Does anyone know which software ahs the ac3 encoder? thnks
