Today I have installed a PixelView PlayTV Pro purchased from e-bay.
Since it is based on BT878 I have downloaded the open source btwincap drivers. Hovever, selecting the board from the list, the installation program seems to not recognize the TV tuner. After the driver installation, Windows start searching a driver for the TVTuner and Crossbar.
Which TV Tuner should I select on the installation program to avoid this problem ?

I am caputing at resolution 720x576 PAL. The bottom part of the video, the last 3/5%, has the brightness at 50% of the rest of the picture.

Have you the same problem with this card ? Is it a known limitation ? Should I return the card to the seller ?

I have solved the problem: it is connected to the bad quality of the VHS source. Since the previous card hadn't this problem I have not tried another VHS.

Considerations on this BT878 card: I strongly prefer the capture coming from the previous Conexant 2883x. It was more detailed and with vivid colors. I have read somewhere that there digitizer is 8bit per channel in BT878 and 10Bit in Conexant 2883.

In exchanhe of the Empire PVR FM based on Conexant I am waiting for the Pinnacle PCTV Mediacente 300i. Someone at TV-CARDS.com has written it has a far superior capture session. I'll experiment until the newest VirtualDub with WDM native capture will see the light. I'll do the final capture using this board.

To all the people interested into Pixelview PlayTV Pro, beware: this board has recentrly changed its TV Tuner and it is no longer recognized by btwincap drivers ! The PlayTV Pro referenced by btwincap is based on Philips PAL Tuner. The New Board uses TVF 8533, it is shipped with no release number and the original driver isn't listed even at Prolink web site (the producer).

I have used even BT Spy to create a custom profile for btwincap drivers but with no success ! Has anyone been able to get this card working ?

Hello, I want to refresh a thread started 3 Months Ago:

I have a Pixelview Fly TV Pro but it comes bundled with TVF 8533 tuner installed instead of the Philips one of the old version.

I was totally unable to have the tuner working. Has anyone had success with this adventure ?

Here is someone which was able to let the board work on the Linux. Maybe this will help.

PixelView is (was) a Conexant based card so BT doesn't work.
Use some other capture program.
