Hi all, i was hoping you could help me.

I have a video file that i'm trying to convert into a file that i can burn onto a dvd. I'm using TMPGEnc for both processes. I'm using TMPGEnc for encoding to mpeg-2, and then using TMPGEnc DVD author 1.6 to then create the dvd files. The problem is with the encoded video. I noticed there is a slight skip in video, like a couple frames are missing, when i watch the file on the computer before encoding. The audio doesn't miss a beat tho. However, after conversion to mpeg-2, the audio starts to run ahead of the video suddenly a couple of seconds after the frame skip i noticed, and stays ahead of the video for the rest of the clip.

I've tried creating mpeg-2 chunks out of the original file, around the skip area and hopefully putting them together, but it seems after the skip area the audio is forever unsynced with the video. is there anything i can do to fix this?

Best bet is to leave the video alone, split the audio at the skip point an then either add or remove bits until you get the sync right again, join the audio parts back up and feed back into DVD Author. You can then cut a couple of frames out where the skip is and you should be fine.

What audio format is it, mp2,ac3 pcm?

Edit, You need to DEMUX the audio track first, then alter it then just add the altered audio file to the Audio Sorce part of the Sorce Setup/Add File part of DVD autor, may take a couple of attempts to get it right.

For testing you can just cut the video with DVD Author so just the last 5 mins or so is used to create the DVD, ideal for checking sync problems rather than compiling a full DVD`s worth.
