DVD2SVCD, DVD Authoring

Ok 3 questions.

A bit of background to the question: I have downloaded the latest DVD2SVCD and found the great dvd authoring section, using dvd author.
I have now had the pc crash out at the authoring stage, and have a dvdauthor xml file. Recovery is not working.

1. Is there anyway to manually use the xml file to restart the authoring process?

2. How does the dvdauthor progam work exactly?

3. Is the dvd author program that comes with the bundle the same as TMPG DVD Author and if so is it a modified version?

First, this is a problem post and it belongs to Basics forum.

1.- Recovery should work, and it is the best way to go. Please post your log file (dvd2svcd_log.txt), and may be we can help you.

2.-dvdauthor is a freeware. It authors a DVD in three steps: muxing audio/video to create the VOBs (mplex exe); add subpictures (spumux exe) and finally author the IFOs and modify the Nav packs inside the VOBs (dvdauthor exe).

3.- No, TMPG DVD Author is a commercial SW, dvdauthor is a free one, based in CLI. There is also a GUI to dvdauthor, but I never tried it.
