View Full Version : How does GK mux VBR using VDubMod

I won't go very deep into why I need to know this, but how does GK mux a VBR into an AVI using VDubMod? Script? Command line parameters? Can someone give me an example of a script that it uses if that's how it's done?

I'm asking because the AVI's it makes with VBR MP3's seem to work fine. But I've tried to mux a VBR MP3 into an AVI my self several differnet ways (without scripting or command line parameters). Each time it seems to have sound until 1/3 - 1/2 through the movie, then it's completely gone.

Thanks in advance.

I'm moving this over to the Development forum, since it's really a question of internal process.

I don't know what trouble you're having with Vdub, specifically, but have you seen Doom9's http://www.doom9.org/vdubmod-procedures.htm page?

VBR MP3 has to be muxed with nandub compatibility mode otherwise it'll be out of synch, but I've never heard of disappearing sound...

No, it doesn't; there are better ways with less overhead and less idiotic ways to apply delays than the nandub way...

Your problem sounds like trying to mux MPEG2 Layer3 audio with a muxer that hasn't been designed to mux MPEG2 audio into AVI :-) AVI-Mux GUI had the same bug long ago, but unlike some other people *cough* I'm at least fixing bugs people report if I find the reason...

@alexnoe

As interesting as your comments may sound - I'm sure we would all appreciate you being less provocative and just to the point.
