Hi, I am in the market for getting a new DVB card, with the intention of streaming the picture to my XBOX running XBMC.

I have read that tsreader is good at serving the data via an xns stream to the xbox - this also allows you to change channel from the xbox.

However, I am not sure which cards are actually supported by tsreader. On the tsreader website there is a list - including the nebula digitv (£120 - ouch but possibly worth it!) -with a link to the hauppauge site but no models mentioned.

Anyone know which Hauppauge UK models are supported by tsreader ?

Also, any info on other ways to acheiuve the end-game would be gratefully received.

cheers

Hi,

I have used TSReader lite, the full version is too expensive for me.

I can tell you that TSReader works fine with the SkyStar 2 DVB card, which is made in Germany and is software based for DVB decoding, I also tried to use it with my Nexus-S DVB card and it didn't work, but maybe I should have tried harder.

I am sorry, but I can't provide more information, like I said, the full version of TSReader costs US$100.00 and in no way I will buy it.

Hi - thanks for the info.

I downloaded tsreader lite to take a look, but seeing as I don't have a card yet I tried to get it to take an mpg source file.

Anyway, it didn't work correctly with the XBOX (XBOX could see the xns server and they exchanged handshake but then wouldn't stream the file)- do you have this setup or are you using tsreader for something else ?

Also, does the Lite version cut out after a minute or so ? I remember reading something to that effect in the notes ?

Cheers

Hi,

No, I don't have the setup you describe, my Nexus-S DVB card provides TV/Audio Out so I don't need to, I also have a FX 5700 video card with TV Out in case I decide to stream video to my TV.

I was trying to record the whole Sat Stream to catch several audio stream and then demux to achieve the best Video Quality.

And yes, TSReader lite only allows 1 minute recording/functioning?
