I'm trying to backup my wifes Starwars(remastered 2000 release) vhs tapes to dvd to save for her her. these will played only on tv.
first time around i ran through avisynth and frameserved to tmpgenc from vdubmod. After burning and viewing the dvd, output is very jittery. I did not deinterlace because it was my understanding i wouldn't need to to display on tv only.
After viewing the original, it appears this is actually telecined-3 progressive frames, 2 interlaced. I'm at a loss as where to go now. Would this affect the playback on tv if not addressed? If runnung capture straight to tmpgenc, the wizard suggests interlaced, not 3:2 pulldown for encoding.
I've read the guides and can't seem to see the answer. I would think this is interlaced material being a hollywood production but doens't look like it viewing frame by frame. Any help is appreciated.
TIA, danny
