Hi everybody,
I have several family footages on VHS tapes that I want to capture and edit into my Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5.
To do this, I just purchased a Terratec Cameo Grabster AV 200 which has composite and S-Video inputs and a USB 2.0 interface.
This analog capture card is based on the Philips SAA7113 video chipset and comes with a Windows XP WDM driver (actual ver. 3.05).
The card is properly recognized by the OS and no IRQ or hardware conflict is issued.
When I run Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and select New Project, no preset is available for Analog or Custom capture.
Only the pre-setting folders for DV NTSC, DV PAL, MainConcept Mpeg Pro and Panasonic 24P are shown.
In short, there is no way for selecting my Terratec Cameo card as a capturing device. Just the DV/IEEE 1394 Capture device is listed in the option capture drop-down menu.
Can anybody help me to solve my problem out?
By the way, actually I have been working around this hangup by using the popular and very effective "Virtual VCR 2.6.9" freeware DirectShow video capture application to cap the analog stream from my VCR.
The Camero AV 200 card is recognized without any problem and I get no dropped frames at 720x576 full PAL res (I use Huffyuv 2.1.1 CCE SP patch 0.2.5 codec as I need to re-convert the avi footage to mpeg after editing it in Premiere). Also, I have no audo out of sync problems despite the Terratec AV 200 has no built in audio capture.
I have:
Intel P4 2.5 Ghz, 1 Gb memory, Asus P4B Motherboard:
Updated Windows XP Pro;
Updated DirectX 9.0 c;
Things already tried:
Unistalled card driver and PPro;
Cleaned the registry keys;
Re-installed card driver and PPro.
Checked with the Terratec UK tech support. They replied to contact Adobe.
Result:
I feel so disappointment that such a powerful software is so hostile to analog capture :(.
