I record movies from the TV using a Philips DVD recorder then transfer the files onto the PC for editting - some of the movie recordings come out with a low volume setting. Is it possible to re-encode the audio track so I can boost the volume ??. The recorder produces Vob files and I suspect I'd have to convert them back to mpeg2 files before I can do any "adjusting" ??

Thank You

You'll have to demux your vob files to seperate the elementary streams (audio and video). After that you can change the audio stream. It depends on the demuxed format what tools you'll need for that.
