I am currently re-encoding some xvid content for DVD, using QuEnc 0.56.
The average bitrate I am using is about 2600-3600. Would it be to my benefit to use the QLB matrix, rather than the default?
Also, are there any other suggestions of settings to use or maybe other matrices (or encoders... maybe NuEnc?) to try?
I am currently using these options:
bitrate: 2600
maxbitrate: 8000
dc: 10
2 pass
high quality enabled
vbr enabled (obviously)
scene detection enabled
trellis quant. enabled
closed gop disabled
interlaced encoding disabled (because of source)
extreme and slow settings enabled
gopsize: 12
maxbframes: 2
QLB matrix enabled
aspectratio: 4:3
mpeg2mux: dvd
audiocodec: ac3
audiobitrate: 160
bottom field first (i don't remember why i chose this... should it not be used?)
