WME 9 problems [Archive]

I've just downloaded Windows Media Encoder 9. When trying to open a file for encoding, the program "locks up". The hour glass appears and won't go away.

I have a capable computer with Win 2K. Has anyone else had this problem?

might help to list system specs, altho you shouldn't neeeeed to. maybe insufficient memory? the only systems i've run it on have 512 and 1GB of memory.

well, it seems quite reasonable considering how much it bogs down a 2+ghz system with tons of memory:

-266 megahertz (MHz) processor, such as an Intel Pentium with MMX

-Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000

-64 megabytes (MB) of RAM

My computer is Pentium4, 2.4GHZ, 512MB 800MHZ RIMM, 533MHZ FSB, WIN2K. It's a "screamer", so I don't think the computer is under powered.
