I have a movie DVD with Dolby Surround 2.0 that I'm trying to remix into an audio CD (and keep on my computer as a set of MP3s.) I've read all the guides and downloaded the appropriate tools, but there's very little information on converting hifi DVD tracks to CDs...it's mostly the other way around. So, some questions:

- What's the best tool for converting the audio to 44.1? Is there any audible difference between BeSweet and vob2audio?

- Since the music is only going to be played on ordinary computers and CD players, is there any reason to convert the 2.0 Surround tracks into ordinary stereo? If so, what's the ideal way to do this?

- Also, I intend to do extensive remixing of the tracks to blend scenes together, eliminate certain lines, and so on...will this have any strange effects on the surround encoding?

Many thanks for any advice you can provide.
