I am attempting to transcode a six channel wav file mixed in Premiere Pro using BeSweet 15b29.

I have tried many output options, including 16, 24 & 32 bit floating point, at 48KHz and 44.1 KHz. Besweet accepts these formats when a stereo file is exported but does not recognise the file type when a single six channnel (5.1) mode is selected, giving an Error 58: Error : Unknown Input-File Format error message.

I am using an 866 MHz Intel processor chip, mother board & chipset with 512 RAM, Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 1, a 60 and two 120 Ggb hard disk drives. I also have the Pinnacle DVD 500 board fitted. Video card is a Creative with nVidia chip and 6.14.10.6177 stereo drivers, and a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 card with latest drivers.

"C:\Program Files\Digital Video\BeSweet 15b29\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "f:\Temp Audio Files\51Surround.wav" -output "f:\Temp Audio Files\Test Dolby Digital.ac3" -logfilea "C:\Program Files\BeSweet 15b29\BeSweet.log" ) -ota( -hybridgain ) -ac3enc( -b 384 -6ch -intel )

You might look for some setting related to "waveformatextensible" and be sure to shut it off. This worked for a similar problem with 6-channel files written with Plogue Bidule.

Hi Steve

Thanks for your reply to my problem.

Had a look at the different settings over the weekend. I cannot see anywhere in Premiere Pro or in Windows XP to change settings for Wave Format Exensible. Any suggestions where this can be changed?

Thanks for your help

I still have not found a way to transcode a six channel wave file from Premire Pro into an AC3, or any other format.

However, if I re-import the 6 channel wave into PP, then split it and export 6 mono's BeSweet will accept the files when muxed. It takes a lot of extra hasel though! It can take for ever with long files.

Is this an issue that could be addressed in a future version of BeSweet please? It would be great!

To finish, this is great software, I use it for all sorts of things. Many thanks to you guys for making this kit available for free. Many of us use this kit, so few realise what they are getting and the effort you all put into it.

Happy New Year to the team
