hi,

before i get bashed , just to let ya know i did a lota researching in the forums before asking (i found alot of usefull stuff but not an answer to what i was lookin for )

so heres my question :

i ve ripped some vids and would like to take some screenshots of it, till now i did that using a directshow player but with that all my screenshots have big quality lose.

so could some experts recommend me a tool for taking screenshots of my rips that will minimize quality lose ?

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

You can use VirtualDub or any of its variants. Open the .avi, find the frame, and use Video...Copy Source Frame to Clipboard, then paste in your favorite image editor. The popular variant VirtualDubMod also has a Video...Snapshot Source Frame that can save the image in various bitmap formats such as .png, directly.

Both Vdub and VdubMod can be found on Doom9's download pages.
