I have been trying to reencode my menus so many times, that my hair is falling out ;) I am trying to rip Starwars Episode 1 - Phantom Menace NTSC R1. The menus are very large for this movie, around 820mb. There are many video streams that have to be dumuxed and reencoded.

It seems to demux fine (but maybe it's not), and afterwards 2 ECL's are created in my FRAMESERVING folder. I am thinking this is weird because I thought you were only supposed to get one ECL. The problem is not every video stream is getting encoded. The ECL's list them, but i guess skips them during the encode. This is causing scenarist to error because there are placeholders where video streams are supposed to be, but aren't there. I don't know why they are being skipped since they are clearly in the ecl files. Also 3 video streams are being marked as dummy files and I don't know why. The only reason that I can think of is that there are another 3 video streams just like it, and it's trying save even more space by not duping them. For example: The streams that were marked as dummy files were 006, 009, and 012. I played back 005, 008, and 011 and they were either exactly the same or very similar to the ones marked as dummy files. I think the audio was the same as well for each related stream.

I have attached my log file so maybe someone will see something that I am doing wrong, or maybe a bug somewhere. I am using CCE 2.67.00.23 with ECLCCE version 1.81

The specific error I am getting is the same as Amit got:

"Scenarist has failed due to a script error; further actions have been cancelled"

When I click OK on the error window NuMenu4U gives me this message

"Compile not successful - import manually and run .bat file later"

Thanks

A file will be marked as a dummy IF it appears in the VOB file but is never actually used.
I have heard reports before that sometimes CCE will skip files during the encode. The ECL file processes in batches of 50, so there are soemtimes multiple ECLs. I will add an option to create an ECL per asset instead. As a workaround, set NuMenu4u to 'No scenarist' Numenu4u will create the script but won't import it. Manually encode the affected m2vs (don't forget Pulldown on them - yours are nearly all film). Move the mpv files to the NEW_M2V folder and rename correctly (see the script). Then run the Scenarist.bat file. After compile run the Update_Ifo.bat file.

Cool, thanx for your help Zeul...and excellent app btw :)

Just one question...where are these .bat files?

Ok, I am stuck again. I thought I knew how to manually reencode the m2v files, but I guess not. Can you point me in the right direction?

Ok, I think I got the manual reencode/pulldown working fine...then I moved the new files over to NEW_M2V, and then I ran the Scenarist.bat and it ran for a few min and then errored. I have attached the ScenaristScript30_1_ERROR.txt for someone to take a look at...cause I have no clue what I am looking for ;) I do see a few lines like:

"Error Class(Command) Tag(Command, -1262459294) failed to paste"

But I don't really know what they mean or how to fix them.

Ok, All seems to be going well...with some irc help from jEl (thanx bud), I think I finally got some menus that might work. The missing assets that weren't encoded, I reencoded by editing the existing ECL's. One of the video streams was a bad encode (scenarist warned me about it, so that's how I knew) and I reencoded it. I deleted all the old vif files, and closed and reopened scenarist. I then compiled and everything worked like a charm. I ran the Update_Menu_Ifo.bat and assets copied over. I have not tested the menus yet, so there may still be command/button problems. But a huge thanks to jEl and Zeul! Couldn't have gotten this far without you guys ;)
