View Full Version : Why bitrate discrepancy: Gspot vs. VDub?

I've noticed that I get different bitrate reports using different programs on the same file and am wondering why.

I encoded a 42-minute TV episode, and my bitrate setting in the codec was about 928 or so. VDub sees a bitrate of 923, which is about right. But when I open the file in GSpot, it reports the bitrate as 1085.

Maybe this latest beta of GSpot is buggy. It also reports the 2-channel AC3 track as "32 kb/s total (2 channels)."

I've noticed this discrepancy pretty consistently.

Yes, I notified the Gspot author about this a while ago. Use the 2.21 version and it should be okay.
