Hello,

Sry for this 'long' post, but I want you all to have a clear thought of what I did...

I've tried to make a backup of a 6-episode disc using 'the big 3'-method (with ReAuthorist). Almost everything went fine. However, ripping the subtitles of the first episode wouldn't work at first. After DIFU demuxed everything and ReAuthorist created a scenarist script, I saw there were no subs present in the VTS01-folder.
Afterwards I ripped the missing subs and put them in the right folder (\VTS01\subs). Scenarist didn't complain, and I got all my episodes with subtitles (confirmed in simulation window, colors and transparancies are the same for each VTS, every VTS showed subs).
After compiling the project, I notice however that VTS01 still has no subtitles (greyed out option 'subs' in powerdvd), while the other VTSes are allright.
I know the subs are present in the VOB-file of VTS01 (I demuxed that file and it showed the right nr of subpictures), so the problem resides in original VTS_01_0.IFO (that DIFU places in the VIDEO_TS folder). It claims there are no subtitles present.
Is there any possibilty to alter this setting in the IFO-file so it says I have a substream in VTS01 at 0x20?
(I've been searching for a couple a days now but did not find anything on that matter. If I missed something obvious, my apologies)

Thx,
Steven

I always have this same problem. You see the subs in the simulation window, but when you compile the subs are missing. I wish someone could provide a definite answer on this bothersome ^%$@#$%#^ problem.

Open VTS_01_0.IFO in IfoEdit. Browse to VTSI_MAT and then to byte 0x255. Make sure it matches the number of subbies in your VTS.

At bytes 0x256 and on you can enter the attributes of the streams in, if they aren't there already. Save

You may also need to alter VIDEOTS.IFO. Open it and browse to VMG_VTS_ATRT. Byte 0x169 shows the number of subbie streams.

Regards and good luck
