Capture card with build in audio capture ?

I am having big problems with my capture card and line in of the audio card. The oscillators fluctuates and audio is out of sync. I can't solve the problem in standard ways as the audio fluctuates differently during the capturing time.
Is there a good capture card with integrated audio recording (nop need for sound card line in) which is proved to have the audio in sync with video ?

yeah i have a terratec 400 card with philips chip on it and it works perfect for me. the audio and video are in perfect sync, and also the philips saa chip has built in gain control which controls the audio level auomatically, you just plug in the audio pin

Assuming you are talking about the Terratec Cinergy 400, this is not quite correct. The terratec still uses the sound card to do the final digitizing of the audio.

What you are looking for are devices which do either mpeg2 or DV in hardware. Like the Hauppauge PVR series, or the canopus ADVC series, some (but not all) of the external Terratec devices etc. etc.

Most of these devices are a bit more expensive then a standard TV capture card though.

Well, not quite. ;-)
If you use the Terratec Software then the sound is directly "read" from the Cinergy 400 card during capture.
This is the reason why one only gets 32kHz sampling in the Terratec Software since this is the (usual) sampling rate of the 7134 chip.

But: Since the Terratec software is anything but usable you normally need the soundcard since no other software (that I am aware of) does support capturing the sound from the tv card.

datasheet (http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat_download/datasheets/SAA7134HL_2.pdf) on page 33 you can find the gory details.

I never even bothered to use the Terratec software, which is how I missed this. To bad about the 32KHz limitation. If it had been able to go up to 48 kHz it would have been perfect for DVD production and such.

I wonder if you can get to it through graphedit?

Sometimes the graph was unable to be played, etc. Due to DVB I do a lot of captures with my DVB card and less with the Cinergy. Therefor I did not spent much time for getting the graph working.

Incorrect. Fly2000 was specifically designed to work with Philips based cards. And it has an option to use Philips audio chip.

The last time I looked at this (BTW: this (http://auzol.narod.ru/index_e.html) page is more friendly to readers not capable of reading russian), it was unstable and therefor it vanished from my memories. But the latest version seems to be stable.

I highly recommend to try this program. It does much better job 'cause it bypasses some of the WDM driver calls and accesses hardware directly.
