dvd authoring program that didnt restrict people to the dvd mpeg 2 resoultion

Do you mean the framesize or do you mean you do not wish to use MPEG 2 video compression?

I thought DVDlab was supposed to be fairly relaxed about non-spec resolution...people certainly use it for SVCD on DVD.

Well, what framesize are you attempting to use?

I'm afraid you're stuck to either the compliant framesizes:

full D1
Half D1
VCD

And some players can handle svcd on dvd. This is a non compliant framesize but will work on most (cheaper) players, which are not very strict.
