I have created a DVD on Ecored. The MPEG-2 file was encoded using TMPGEnc. I have setted to:
Quality 100
Maximum bitrate 8000
Minimum bitrate 8000
Motion search Highest quality

That is why I wanna this encode with high quality, but Encore on the 'check project' says that my bitrate is high. It is a real problem?

If you are setting your minimum and maximum bitrate the same, then why don't you just use CBR?

Also, if you are authoring with the intention of burning your project to DVDR, then you would be wise to lower that bitrate.

I have one hour of miniDV file and donīt wanna loose any quality in compression. That is why I chosse Quality 100 and Maximum and Minimum bitrate to 8000. It is a mistake?

If you are setting your maximum bitrate at the same value as your minimum bitrate, then the encoder cannot possibly create a proper VBR stream - it might just as well be used in CBR if you want it to stay at 8mbps all the time.

I would suggest that you re-encode your footage, trying settings similar to:

minimum bitrate setting = 4mbps

average bitrate setting = 6mbps

maximum bitrate setting = 7mbps

This is just a sensible example - you can experiment with your own settings. Since you are getting error messages about bitrate, I would also suggest that you use bitrate viewer from Teco ( http://www.tecoltd.com/bitratev.htm ) to check if the encoder is creating excessive bitrate peaks with your existing settings.

I would recommend that you do not use maximum bitrates as high as 8mbps.

I would also recommend that you compress your audio to 192kbps .ac3, if you can, since this will lower the datarate of the final multiplexed stream ,and improve your chances of success.
