1 Time encoding

I have a small question.....I already have a dvd which has been reencoded however the dvd has glitches ..now i know that its not the final dvd but because of the way it has been remuxed....i only need to quickly reencode it(pass it thourgh the big3 method) and remux it...now my question is if i encode it only thru a 1 pass cce would that degrade the quality of the final outcome ? Since it already has been encoded 5 times.

As MPEG2 is a lossy compression algorithm - of course. But probably too little for you to notice.
