View Full Version : Shrek 2 - PGCs with No Cells

I've got a 73 PGC Title Set that has five or six separate PGCs that have no chapter or cells in them.

I've tried authoring using dummy clips for those, but obviously - this creates a cell using Scenarist. If I just leave the PGC there with no cell, Scenarist will not compile.

So, my question is - Do I author with a chapter point, and then somehow remove it using IfoEdit, or is there a trick to Scenarist I'm missing?

I can't do IfoUpdate, since there are too many cells in the newly authored IFO.

Thanks for any help you've got. I've done some searches, but haven't found anything.

OK - So I figured out how to edit the PGCs to show 0 cells and 0 chapters, but I'm still getting the same error in IfoUpdate - The Original IFO's PGC Area is not large enough to hold the new PGC. ABORTING.

I went into IfoEdit and went to VTS-PGCITI and edited the chapter and cell numbers for the required PGC's. I'm not entirely sure this is the right way, but it seemed to work (??)

I have looked at each and every PGC in both the original and authored, and they are the same by chapter and cell.

The only odd thing I did notice is in the original, the chapter under each PGC would increment up to an arbitrary number, and then start over again. It went Ch 1 - 26, then 1 - 15, 1 - 15, and 1 - 27.

In the authored one, it simply went 1 - 68.

I've never seen anything like this. Can someone help?

Thanks

This is common with many Disney movies...

you can create these in Scenarist just fine actually.. the empty PGC just can't be the first PGC.... if you right click on your title (or click and do from the menu) and say "New PGC" and just don't put anthing in it, scenarist will author just fine

IFOUpdate does not support these types of PGC's as you've found however the latest version of BatchIFOUpdate (which I recommend EVERYONE switch to) does...

(As a side note, ScenAid also can handle these scenario's.... that's how I know Disney movies do it :D)

ifoupdate can handle those titles, you just have to switch to cell update mode ;)

But I would recommend batchupdateifo anyway :)
