I have done some searches here, and my problem hasn't seemed to come up, if it has and I missed it, I apologize.

Anyhow, here's my predicament:

I am working on a DVD for a band, and I just finished it for NTSC, it's all great, working etc. Now, I just learned that I need to produce a PAL version as well. I have Canopus Procoder, which I understand will convert my .m2v files to PAL, but my question is this:

I have my project in Adobe Premiere (NTSC) will I get better quality if I just export it as 720x576 25fps and re-encode with CCE? I'm also a bit confused as how I should export it from Premiere if I do this (what field order?).

OR.. should I just frameserve the premiere project output to a program like avisynth and re-encode?

I want to get the best quality out of this thing, and I really can't tell if the procoder transcoded mpeg-2 looks any worse on my screen (I don't have a PAL T.V. monitor.

Thanks for any help

NTSC to PAL conversions are better discussed in the AVISynth forums. Not an easy thing to get right.

Thanks anyway, I got help elsewhere, ended up just frameserving from Premiere to Canopus, which seemed to do a decent job.
