well now, let me see... i want to capture a original vhs movie to my pc, then convert it to dvd vith the best quality i can get. i have Terratec 400 tv card with analog input based on the philips saa 7134 chip, and i use the flyTv2000 software for capturing (i read that is the best for that chip).p42000,512mb ram, lots of hdd, my questions are:
-which resolution i should capture, should i use the "on the fly" flytv2000 deinterlacer or should i make some kind of filterchain in AViSynth afterwards to process the video? (i have the huffyuv & the Picvideo mjpeg codecs)
-anyway, i intend to use some filtering to remove the vhs noise at the bottom(or should i crop on capure), so what filters i should use for that to get the best of the vhs tape? (cropping, luma, shrpening...etc) i prefer AVS Edit to write the scripts,
-and finally what is the best solution to encode, vob's or mpg2 files to burn them on dvd? (i have the TMPGEnc)
...oh yeah, does someone know a good mirc channel where i can disscuss the video capturing process?
