View Full Version : problem importing a no encoded file: larger than video duration

Hello.

I'm working in a pal project with the Big 3 method. Scenarist gives me that warning, more or less: The duration of MPEG video file: VTS_P02_no-cce_4~3.m2v has changed. Error Track... the timecode is larger than video duration.

I've read other posts with the same problem, but no one of them refers to a file that hasn't been encoded. I didn't find a solution.
The m2v file in question is a still of a menu: 79 KB.

Thank you in advance

That's the copy of the error message:

Warning The duration of MPEG video file "I:\GRISBI\VTS__01_P02-NO-CCE.4~3_1.M2V" has changed.
Error Track "VTS_01_PGC_02", Scene "VTS01_vobid04_cellid01"'s timecode 00:00:00;24 is larger than video duration.

I would be grateful if someone could help me

O.K I think I found a solution.

I have in this film seven pgcs with still images from the menu in the same vts where the main film is. I can't import the project because I get that warning when trying to import it with scenarist.

So, I take the first of these pgcs, that's to say a still, and I put it in vegas video and enlarge it till it has a duration of 10 seconds, for instance, and now the Scenarist warning disappears.

Well I have to repeat that process with the rest of stills and I think the problem is over.

NoCCE files are the cause of 99% of authoring issues (with ScenAid i'm speaking).. - to date there is no fix however I'm working on accuratly reading/processing these files (By looking at your names I can tell your using ReAuthorist which is also effected...)

I personally get rid of them and let ScenAid dummy however if it's a slideshow (as you mentioned yours is) then you have to work differently if you want to keep the effect

The only way Scenarist can handle slideshows is by demuxing by cell (if there's multiple cells in the vobid/pgc that makes the slide show)

Easiest thing I can suggest is to either get rid of them and dummy them or to manually adjust the script... either would work

O.K. I see the solution I found is not completely good.

By enlarging the slides I can import the whole project, but I can't compile. I get this warning "The duration is too short (2 frames).
I see that more people have had exactly the same problem with slides that have chapters.

For the moment I don't give up and I don't want to get rid of these slides, but I don't understand the two procedures you suggest to try to save them.

Let's see:
I have now the project imported in Scenarist. Do I have to demuxe the pgc-slides by cell from the original dvd and replace with them the ones I have in Scenarist?

And the method of adjusting the script, is it useful to import or to compile the project? If you meant I can use it to compile, how could I please adjust it?

Thanks in advance

The correct way to keep your slideshow is to demux that PGC by cell and manually rebuild it in scenarist, 1 track for each slide

Unfortunatly, Scenarist can't handle Scenes in a slideshow
