Hello !
I would like to know if it is possible to make a build of DVD (AUDIO_TS,VIDEO_TS)in one application (Maestro) and than import it to another application (i.e. DVD StudioPro, Scenarist) for creation of DLTs?

If so, would chapters and layerbrake be set correctly as I programmed it in the initial authoring software?

If you have a Mac, this can be done very easily and reliably.

Hi !
Well I have just tried and we got the check disk back and it is not passing the layer brake correctly ....freezes infinetly. I have called a replicator (Sonopress germany) and if you import the build from Maestro to DVD Pro and create DLTs there, you have only options to set the layer brake on "automatic". I am guessing now but this automatic feature of DVD SP creates seamless layer brake point, which is incompatible with DVD Specs. So Anyone, DONT DO THIS.

With respect, when I said it's easy to do this on the Mac, I was not referring to DVD SP.

Sorry I should have been more explicit. Ivanski, please check your PM inbox.

Arky.

If you dont need CSS etc then check Gear Pro ME for a win app,

Hello !
Did you ever try it to make DLTs on toast and send them to a replication factory? Also, I can only see the DLT drive if I choose
DVD-Rom (UDF) option, also do I drag the img file there or AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders? Is it going to read the layer brake from ifo file created in initial authoring software (MAESTRO)?

Man I'm having real problems reading!

Sorry but Toast will only do dvd-5. Gear Pro ME or TFDVDEdit are your only options it would seem! or just write out of the app of course. Why don't you write out of Maestro? or demux and re-author in another app? Scenarist?

You could check at the rep house and see if they have Maestro. If they do send the HD over and let them finish things for you...

Sorry for my english ...I was in a rush.
I would like to do a build straight from authoring application (Maestro), however I cannot make the program to detect the DLT drives. When booting the computer it correctly shows in bios with the appropriate SCSI id set, termination is ok, as well as detection under WinXp.
We also use DVD SP, there is no problem doing a build to DLT. But for some projects I have to use Maestro, due to the MAC workstation doing other work. I dont want to reauthor again to DVD SP when it is once done in Maestro.
I will look into the gear pro ME and TFDVDedit. I will have to test it first before I will believe.

Sorry for the late reply.

PROBLEM: Maestro does not recognise DLT.

Solution: When I installed DLT8000 I had the same problems on winXP.
Get latest drivers from Quantum. Update drivers. Install Adaptec ASPI XP version. Restart. Will work. Now my DLT 8000 works in all my compos. It doesnt matter if your DLT is from IBM, Tandberg, HP etc. Use drivers from Quantum.

If all fails, try ForDVD 2.9 or later. Thats my tested app. It does create its own layer break, but my projects are always replicated correctly.
