QuEnc and Rate problems

Do the bitrate spikes etc that have been present throughout (thanks to libavcodec) still existin QuEnc?

This is the only problem stopping me from using QuEnc + DVD-Rebuilder to backup my DVDs (rather than DVD Shrink at the moment).

Anyways, the only reason I bring up this issue is that I havent seen it mentioned since Nic said he had thought of releasing a QuEnc based on the modified libavcodec (which as I recall has fixed the rate problems). I wasn't sure, however, if the recent QuEnc 0.56 has these additions/fixes or not, although I'm sure Nic is more focused on fixing the muxxing profiles.

yes. though from 0.52 on they should be less.

basically he said he is thinking of releasing 0.60 as 2 versions. 1 with the normal avcodec and one with the Peter Cheat mods. so then people can do direct comparisons on what the 2 do.
