I have just downloaded a DVD archive of the new Star Trek (www.newvoyages.com)
I cannot get DVD decryptor to open it as it is on my hard disk instead of being in my DVD drive.
I wish to get it ripped and then process it with AutoGK so I can make a XviD version.
Please advise!
Cheers.

It's not a DVD, it's a collection of .wmv files. These are all apparently in Microsoft Windows Media format, for playback on a PC. If you're speaking of something other than what they have for download in the "episodes" section, then please, provide more information.
(Normally, we don't provide assistance with downloaded files. But the content, in this case, is apparently non-commercial and freely available from the content owners for download.)

The archive consists of 3 directories.
The one that has the relevant files is called VIDEO_TS
It has .VOB .IFO and .BUP files.
The .VOB files can be played with Cyberlink DVD player.
So...........
How can I convert these files into XviD?
Cheers.

Thank you for describing what you have. Those are files for burning onto a DVD. You obviously don't have a DVD burner. I recommend you aquire the .wmv content, if all you want is PC playback.
But, if you insist on converting to XviD....
You'll need a DVD burner -- physical or virtual -- in order to be able to use DVD Decrypter. You could use vStrip / vStripGUI to demux the MPEG-2 and audio, I suppose, then remux them with TMPGEnc in order to use AGK in file mode, but that's overly complex to get the streams into AGK.
Otherwise, you will need to use use GK rather than AutoGK, and use vStrip/vStripGUI to IFO parse the files you have on disk. Doom9 has a guide (http://www.doom9.org/vstrip.htm) for vStrip, and, of course, GK XviD guides (http://www.doom9.org/xvid-guides.htm).

So what is the easiest way to convert it to WMV?
Cheers.

Huh? That's all I found when I scanned the website you pointed to... click on Episodes.

please correct me if i am wrong (i have never used AutoGK) but if you have all the files for a dvd you could simply use ImgToolClassic (see doom9 software download page (http://www.doom9.org/software.htm) ) to create an .iso image of the dvd, which you can then mount in a virtual dvd drive (eg daemon tools) and then use dvddecrypter to demux?
btw i could also only find .wmv files from that link you posted ...
