Hi!
I've backuped my blue's brothers dvd with dvdshrink 3.2. I've removed all subs except for the english one and the italian one: the first work but the last doesn't, my dvd player shows a curious 16/2 subtitle index...

if you have removed subtitles between the 2 you have kept you may only be able to select the second sub by the dvds menu. does that not work ?

I've used the switch subtitle button on my dvd player remote control...
Only english sub work..

Tassadar: I understand your problem, I had before another problems with a DVD shrink back up, for instance, the subs disapeard for a while and then came back.
Mostly of that problems are not from DVD Shrink, but from the standalone, you should try that DVD on your computer to see if everything is ok.
When I got the Philips DVP630, with the last firmware, I didn't have problems anymore with my back ups. Just to know about it.
Greetings! ;)

yes and what did i say ?
if you have removed subtitles between the 2 you have kept you may only be able to select the second sub by the dvds menu.
so go to the subtitle selection menu of the dvd and select italian. then play the film and you should see the subtitle fine.
to be able to use the remote you need to keep all the subs inbetween the english and italian ones.

@dragongodz et al.
Please see my tests on logical remapping of enabled streams here (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=206139#post206139)

I'm curious...why do people remove subtitles?? They're so small, I don't see how its worth the trouble?

This question usually comes from R1 people,:) if you have the amount of subtitles we often have on european DVD's, you would know how irritating it can be to try finding the right one with the remote.:mad:

I've found Shrink to be a bit "quirky" with remapping and deleting stripped streams (see my analysis here (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=206139#post206139)).
The very best way to strip them, IMHO, is to use IFOEdit, which remaps them perfectly and accesses them easily in the standalone players I have.
