:) My first try in trying to help.
I did this just yesterday, looked around some and found something that worked rather nice.
I used DVDstripper and stripped all extras. Worked wonders for me. I left all the menus, so nothing happens when you press any of the extras buttons. I am sure there is a way to edit them out, but that I am still trying to learn. :)
After this I just used RB with the new modified vobs and it worked fine.
Check here about how it works.DVDStripper (http://www.deano.dsl.pipex.com/tool.htm)
Found it here (http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/3/3/3-3-31.shtml) myself. :)
You'll be needing ifoedit too.
I guess there are different ways to do this and I am not saying that this is the best. But it worked for me. :)

Hi,
You can do what Indigo say, but remember that DVD-RB is intended for untouched dvd's, i.e, original.
You can do some pre-processing, but any error that might appear, don't blame it on DVD-RB. It could very well be the other program that messed up the ifos.
Said that, you can also use DVD-Remake by Dimad to strip unwanted material.

Personally what i do is rip with decrypter. Then open the resulting files in Dvd remake and with that i cut out any special features and menu buttons that i dont need. I export to a folder and open the resulting folder in dvd rebuilder. Then I deselect any audio and subs i dont need and run prepare. After the prepare phase I open up RB-Opt and load the rebuilder.ini file into it and apply as needed any custom matrices or tweak any filter settings/add filter to avs code. THen i save these settings and start the encode. Oh and one other step that could be done ifyou have a huge menu file is to run the movie through dvd shrink, compressing ONLY the menus leaving everything else untouched. You would do this AFTER running it through remake. I do all this preprocessing and I have almost never had any issues with rebuilder at all.

Hmm...any idea if doing the menushrinking before passing through RB might work? That way the MB saved by compressing the menu might be used for the encoding.

sure, but to avoid problems
do all your processing, taking note of what you did, and calculate the mb saved.
then run rb on the RAW disk, and use rb-opt (or the targetsector=) to oversize your rb output.
Then go back after the rebuild and blank/compress to get back below the 4.7gb size

@Indigo
Yes that is exactly what I was suggesting... I must not have made that clear. Definately run the menus through shrink before rebuilder.
jptheripper brings up a good point about doing all processing as POSTPROCESSING, that is after you have run everything through rebuilder. And this is definately something you should try if you run into errors with dvd rb. But I personally do every dvd this way (rip, remake, shrink(sometimes), then run through rebuilder) and I have never had issues with this process. So I would recommend do preprocessing then rebuild then i clean up navigation a bit with IFOEdit then I test with dvd play in IFOEdit then I burn if all has gone well. So far its proven a very effective way to do things. BUt you should definately look into jptherippers suggestion if you ever have any issues or errors with rebuilder.

I haven't seen any problems doing it that way.
