I've got an Ipaq 3660 (--> 204 mhz cpu) and am wondering weather to choose RV9 + the "preview" player or rv8 and the "original 1.0" player
(Concerning needed CPU Speed)

The Preview player with Rv9 support is more optimized (even if it may not have had lots of QA cycles). I have had no major problems with it.

So RV9 should give me better results at the same CPU usage?

Rv9 Cpu usage is higher than Rv8. (20%-30% more)
If you don't care about filesize and want the fastest highest resolution blit, I would recommend Rv8.
I think SA-1110 won't save you battery between rv8 and rv9.
So,. if you like the performance of Rv9 say at 176xY or 240xY at 15fps,.. RV9 is the more efficient codec of the two :)
Thanks,
