hi again
now thAt the program runs there is another isuue
it takes to much time to convert a movie
i use tmpenc program and i have a fast pc (pentum 4, 512 and 80 giga)
before it used to run 4 hours for a 2 hours movie
and now 10-12 hours!!!

it start with "analyse" the movie and than start rendering it for the same time, so it's actuhelly multiply the time...

what am i doung wrong

i'm not a newbe in this:rolleyes:

Please :logfile:

Trying to guess, you are now using the 2-VBR mode of TMPGEnc., and before you were using CBR or CQ mode
CQ mode will give you the same quality than 2-VBR or even better, but the final size is not always accurate.

Other parameter which affects the encoding time is Motion Search precision. Differences in quality between Highest and High are not so big, but in encoding time yes.

Below you can find some encoding time (minutes:seconds) results I did in the past with two clips in the same PC:
CLIP A) 1 minute Low/normal motion
Lowest 1:41
Normal 2:38
High 3:33
Highest 6:05
Estimate search 2:04
CLIP B) 1 minute High motion (a car race)
Lowest 1:52
Normal 3:22
High 4:57
Highest 8:59
Estimate search 2:35

EDIT: In any case, in terms of encoding speed D2SRoBa+D2S is the fastest. But you need CCE.

well i'm not sure what you mean

i updated dvd2svcd and now the encoding time is longer
what do i have to do to make it shorter

when it start it shows the word "analyse" on the screen on the tmpenc program and than start to convert for the same time

before it used to run a few times until it started converting, but it didn't take so longgggggggggg

what is CBR, CQ AND WHERE DO I CHANGE IT?

Again,....:logfile: , please, my crystall ball is good, but not enough..

In Encoder tab of DVD2SVCD you will find the settings, labeled:
"Rate Conrol Mode" (CBR, CQ, 2-VBR...)
"Motion search precison"

Who is "it"? TMPGENc?

Please, please, I desesperately need a log...

BTW, is "it" a fresh run or are you "recovering"? (Just looking again in my crystall ball)

well "it" refers to TMPGENc through the program dvd2svcd.
any way
i changed at the encoder tab to CBR at high quality and the programs runs faster

i'll do more test to see the results of the converted movie on my dvd

thanks a lot:)
