I'm trying to encode to 5.1 aac (faac 1.24) and 5.1 ogg (latest oggenc.exe) using Foobar (0.8.3). The source is AC3 ch5.1 (~ 120 minutes).

The problem is that the encoding process stops at 6:57 without any error, and foobar quits (both for aac and ogg). What gives?

I have been looking around (here and at hydrogenaudio.org), but I can't find any info about this.

Seems that there is a problem with foo_ac3.dll and/or your input file then. Can you simply play the AC-3 file in foobar2000 beyond that point?

I have similar problem with AC3->Vorbis transcode, but foobar just pointed some error and stop encoding. This occures only with command line encoder, using oggenc.exe, with build in disk writer or GTK3 writer there was no problem.
Also I couldn't force foo_ac3 to propertly decode chanell maping in AC3, so I use for now winamp adaptor with in_AC3.
So try maybe use non CL encoder or in_ac3. It's only sugestion, cause I'm no master in audio encoding :)

The AC3 was indeed corrupted. I fixed it with Besliced. (I could play the whole file in WMP6.4, so I didn't notice it ...) Thanks!

...the encoding process stops at 6:57 without any error...

Hi, Guys!

I have same problem, and I found strange thing: I have AMD 2500+ Barton oc to 3200+, every programs runs fine, no errors with my DVDrips etc.

But! when I run FAAC 1.24 plugin in foobar, encoding proces stops without any error everitimes in other timestamps. I found, that my proc. isn't so good stable for FAAD!!! So I test to encode on original 2500+ and everithings ok.

Hmm, interesting... I'll keep that in mind if someone posts about similar "mystery bugs" at Audiocoding.com again.
