I have been trying to learn about the Big 3 method. I am using v1.4.0 of DoIt4U. I cannot find the DoCCE+Scenaid option in the settings. Does that come with the 1.4.7 version only? If so, is there anyway of using Scenaid with older versions?
Sorry if this is a newbie question. I am trying to learn from guides. :)
Thanks

hi indigo,
yes, that option is only avaliable for v 1.4.7.
personally, i dont even use that option. i prefer going:
DIF4U > NuMenu4U (controlled by DIF4U) > Scenaid (manually open) > BatchCCE (controlled by Scemaid) > Scenarist (controlled by Scemaid) > BatchIfoUpdate

btw i am currently in the process of updating the guide ... unfortunately work commitments have put that temporarily on holde, i will (hopefully) have it finished early next week :)

:) Thanks for the response. I'll experiment some more. :) Btw, do you have any link to that guide of yours?

well for a start it is not my guide. on the contrary ... it is written by doom9 : Full DVD Backup guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/scenaid.htm) . i have merely offered to help update it to suit the latest release of the programs used.
cheers

Hmm...you mention using Scenaid manually after DIF4U is finished with NuMenu4U. When I open scenaid and target the demux directory, the scan gives me a scenarist script. Is this right? shouldn't the script be made after the vob encoding with batchcce? What do you mean when you type BatchCCE (controlled by Scenaid)? I cannot start batchcce through scenaid as far as I can see. Only make a scenaid-cce.txt file which I can manually import into BatchCCE. Is that what should be done? Use the scenaid created file instead of the one DIF4U made for me?
heh...many questions, hope you can help. :)

before you select your demux directory in scenaid, configure your options - i have selected:
scenarist options - 'import script into scenarist' (you could also select import/compile/close for a 'one-click' solution)
batchcce options - 'open batchcce' (you could also select 'start encode on import' if you did not wish to alter any settings in BCCE)
with these options, once you scan the demux directory, scenaid will:
1. create your script etc
2. open BCCE and import job
3. once encoding has finished it will then import into scenarist.

Ok. Btw, the 2 pass encoding of the main Vob (2h movie) took almost 8 hours to encode. Encoding speed was only 1.2. Is it just my system or can there be other reasons?
System Specs: 1700+ XP AMD
RAM: 512 DDR 2700
HDD: Seagate 7200 rpm 80GB.
Thanks

all depends on your system speed...
my P4 2.4 gets about 1.8->2.0 but only 1.0->1.2 when deinterlacing
