I just wondered why my site appears at his old url when mine .com domain is about week and a half old?
Must I submit my site in google in order to update their database?

Google re-indexes aproximatly once a month. Once your site gets indexed you should see regular visits from google around the same time every month. To speed up the process you can submit the URL to be indexed. It only puts it in the queue and does not mean it will be working any time soon. But it is a more sure thing than waiting for google to index you by itself.

I submitted "submit url in google" in google search engine ;) and the first url was the right one:
