now serious: i don't know how and why it's threre....i don't have homepage, don't KNEW that link, never put anything as my hamepage and the worse:

i don't know when it start, i don' knew it before cos if i don't have homepage,why i will click in that buttom for test or something?!?!

first of all: i'm ashamed...really ashamed!!! :o :o :scared:
and in a deep sadness.....cos i never saw that link in my homepage before, only saw that a few minutes cos was trying to put a link for doom9 pt forum in my signature and saw that link.

mixed emotions: scared, sad, ashamed, angry......why angry? :angry:
someone put it there, WAS NOT ME and now i feeling that i have the right to ask:

2nd even though the link is in profile, you shouldn't be posting "that" within the forum, at least edited the link so it doesn't work (forum #6: questionable nature)

1- nobody can access my computer only i can do it! this doubt is completely removed.

2- the questionable nature is --> how this "appear" as my homepage and not my post. if when i was editing to put athe link to doom9 portuguese i had removed, how can i show that to remove my doubt?
your second "answer" (answer?) is one paradox...is (was) my way to show it with distinctiness.will be my PERSONAL pleasure to remove it and of course as my supposed homepage....but first i need to know who can have access and put it there cos nobody use my pc and as mod in others forums i don't have access to the users profiles and the worse is...i'm mod of doom9 portuguese forum that confirm my respect,dedication and the honor for this place...just click in my signature and go to portuguese forum..you will find "Jorge"..that's my real name and username there.

is a shame for me as person and as mod from domm9 portuguese forum cos this can appear so despicable for who click in that link and (of course) TRUST that i put it there.
i will search in my backups where i saved lots of guides and interesting threads if i find when it happen cos maybe in the pages that i saved the buttom to my homepage don't have any link like i always left.i have lots of pages saved but i needed i will open everything stating from my first post here and when i find it ,i can send the copy of this pages as proove.
last year i send some pages about Bach posts of Roba or something and one mod get some pages that i send by mail.....maybe that mod( i can't remember who was) could help checking the links in my old posts too.

i'm still waiting for some recomendation, trust position and as simple user cos nobody use my pc, i have lots of pages saved to search and all help will be wonderfull cos i never posted something like that in the whole 8 or 9 forums where i go everyday and in some of this forums for more than 6 years....nobody never saw seamless link posted in all of my posts in all places that i go.....i'm still confused and ashamed.
of course--> later i remove the link when all that can be read here understand the real reason why that link is in my first post here in this thread like i need to understand how it's in my signature. !:confused:

you can remove the link yourself under the "user cp" button on the top of the screen.

of course that doesn't say anything about how it got there :eek:

perhaps a PM to doom9, if he hasn't already noticed this thread. i'm sure he'd be just as concerned as you if there's security problems.

@jorel: you may want to think about changing your password..

I'm certain that none of my co-admin would ever touch a user profile unless it is to edit out a non acceptable signature (why didn't you remove the link on your own? I now blanked your www url), and if another party had access to the admin panel, I'd expect him/her to do a little more damage. The only alternative is that somebody logged into your account and changed it.. be it from your house, another place where you logged in, or somebody simply figured out your password and tried to get you in trouble.

the last alternative is really possible and the real reason that i posted...to show for that person that you and the mods know about that now....--->i had big problems in another "place" and maybe....who knows??... someone did it after see me as mod in Domm9 portuguese forum..??...is possible!!

You should scan your computer for viruses and trojans. You might also have a hidden key logger. Also, you are loggin in on a LAN at work? Big brother might be watching you!

Or maybe it's your girlfriend/wife being mad at you for neglection. You just spending too much time on the computer! :p

- sniffing, especially when the logon is not encrypted. (many websites still don't use SSL for logins, especially forums).
With the growth in the number of unsecured wireless access points sniffing is becoming easier all the time.
- keylogging trojans
- If you have your browser set to remember your passwords, there are trojans that can harvest these.

Try running:
- a good up-to-date virusscanner
- AddAware
- spybotSD
and install a good personal firewall.
