I updated to QuEnc 0.56 [Alpha], now fails during encode, Rundown. QuEnc keeps crashing on some of the segments.

i dont know if this is related to your problems but may very well be.
in 1 of the posts here jdobbs says he made a mistake when he was adding the procoder support that causes a problem wih using QuEnc. it has been in for several version, including the VIP releases. he has said it will be fixed in an upcoming version.

Hi radar,
I remember when I first tried rbv064a with QuEnc0.54 it didn't work, but somehow I got it working. I think I used a previous rebuilder ini file from rbv063. Try that, or delete the ini file. Also, when it was working, it was skipping the first segment, and rebuild fails, so I simply encode the first m2v manually with QuEnc, then click rebuild and it works.

In the one test I've done with the QuEnc alpha it froze while encoding one segment after successfully doing about 20 others.
Remember... that version of QuEnc is an alpha and is in early testing. Alphas are expected to have bugs -- that's why they are called alpha. In addition, DVD-RB is in Beta. It too is expected to have errors (although theoretically fewer are expected).
When you mix an alpha and a beta you get a high probability of errors. So if you're reporting this to try and help Nic or myself figure out problems, many thanks. But if you (or anyone else) are trying to do some real production backup encoding and are concerned because they aren't working together -- you should step back to QuEnc 0.54.
There was a problem introduced in using QuEnc with DVD-RB when the ProCoder code was implemented (it has been fixed in 0.67 but there is a workaround posted somewhere here on Doom9 for earlier versions) -- but it will show by a failure during encoding.
