Deinterlacing problem

I'm having one hell of a time trying to deinterlace this video. So far i've tried the filters that are listed below. I'm trying to find AutoDeint, but i've turned these fourms and google inside out with no luck. I posted a screen shot from a part thats proving to be one of the hardest to deinterlace. The quite a few more parts in the movie where the fields just don't quite line up right, regardness of what filer I use. Anything I can do here?

You know, that doesn't look like bad deinterlacing to me but rather like a nasty case of dot crawl; search the forum for DeDot or GuavaComb and try using these on it...

yikes! there's not much you can do about crawl like that.

composite cables are... yikes.

when the crawl is this bad, guavacomb doesn't do much to it (it thinks it must be detail...). i haven't tried deDot because i haven't captured anything in yonks. if it's at all possible, try use component connections (s-video, SCART, or even 3x RCA leads, or a combination of all 3 like i'm using with my TV-out at the moment).

a vertical blur can help things. try "blur(0,1).blur(0,-1)" and see if it helps. it'll kill some detail, but it may just give a more pleasing image. it may also give filters like guavacomb a helping hand.

It's actually not a capture, it's DVD rip. Evedently, a bad one. One more thing that might be important is that image was taken WITHOUT a deinterlacer on, so some of what you're seeing may be the misaligned fields with dot crawl. Even though with one it doesn't look that better. But thanks for that tip, i'll try a V blur and see if that helps any. I'm waiting for my roomate to wake up so he can translate the DeDot manual for me. My japanese is horrible...

Dedot or the blur really didn't do much good, but I got that manual translated to the best that I could. If anybody wants it, and I think there are a few, just e-mail me. I'm going to try GuavaComb and see if that works.

Could you perhaps post it here in a new post about it?

Maybe WarpEnterprises could add it and the plugin itself to the AviSynth filter collection - if you don't mind posting it for all to see... :)

On the dot crawl, I think i've fixed it. I used "swap field order" in DVD2AVI and insted of DeDot I used GuavaComb. That pretty much got everything out of there. Here's a new screen shot so you can see the difference.
