Are there any "TDX" rules for HDTV?

I know there were for divx/xvid/svcd movies and tv (though i am not aware of any version post 2002. So i'm wondering if anything exists for HDTV content.

What's been written up there as so-called 'rules' has long been surpassed by what people actually can do and do. Let's keep it like that and not even start calling for someone to tell you to what extent you are to cripple your HDTV backups with conservative methods.

tdx rules were a bit conservative... it would be interesting to see TDXHDTV guidelines :devil:

Yeah, the tdx rules are getting a little out of date. Mainly on the container front (as far as codecs are concerned, XviD/AC3 is pretty good).

HDTV as far as I know isn't allowed in tdx rules (max horizontal res is 640), but there are some so-called "HR" rips (High Res), which are coming out now from the big groups. I don't know if this means the rules have been updated for TV shows to reflect the fact that most TV in the US is now HD, or if these groups have just decided it's about time to ignore the rules... time will tell.
