problem converting

Hi;

I want to take a movie I edited and burned onto a DVD when I was a little less knowledgeable, and reedit it. I bought 1Click DVD2AVI and started the process. The movie is 58 minutes long with about 5 "over lay" titles and no menus or chapters.

Once it got started, after about 40 minutes, the estimated time to complete was 34 hours.

I have more than adequate dedicated hard drive space via firewire and a 1.4 GHz celeron with 624 MB of RAM.

Does this seem reasonable?

I'm not sure what this "1Click DVD2AVI" is? Are you sure it's the same program this forum refers to?

No I'm not sure. When DVD2AVI was first suggested to me I did a search for it and found this one. Being impatient to forge ahead, I bought and downloaded it. Can you tell me where I can check out the program this forum is concerned with?

Googling I found a product called "1Click DVD Copy" from a company called LG Innovations -- perhaps that's what you purchased and are trying to use?

DVD2AVI and its variants are noncommercial products, though I doubt you are using any of them. And they are not necessarily what you might use for your purposes. Read the DVD2AVI FAQ thread, it's at the top of the list in this subforum. I don't think this is the tool you've been using.

Doom9's website (www.doom9.org) has several variants of DVD2AVI for download, including the DGIndex variant (also known as DGMPGDec). But it also has plenty of guides and basic information for DVD backup, into all sorts of different formats.
