I'm using DVD Shrink 3.2 and burning with a Sony external drive. Everything's cool and looks normal throughout the encoding and burn process. But my first 2 copies both get hung up and freeze at afew points, usually at chapter breaks. Any suggestions?

hi bongoman31 and welcome to the forum.

unfortunately these types of errors can be very hard to troubleshoot, although they are most likely a combination of media/burner, media/player incompatabilities.

things to try:

1. to check your player/media combination go to: http://www.videohelp.com/

2. you may have problems with the iso creation/burning method - please provide details of how you burnt the disc

3. errors from burning at max speed - try reducing to a slower speed.

Thanks for trying to help. I'm using a Pentium 2.4 GHz laptop(256RAM) with a brand new Sony external DVD burner, and everything seems to be working right. I'm using DVD Shrink 3.2, and it is very automatically taking it through encode and burn, I assume with Nero, which is installed. But everything seems to be running through Shrink.(The DVD Shrink screen stays up throughout the whole process, and I never see any indication of Nero.) My guess is it's your #3 idea. Where do I go on my system to adjust the burn speed?? Thanks again.

In the dvdshrink options, you can set it to not burn straight away, but instead create an iso image of your disc.
You can take that iso and burn it using Nero (burn image file) with the standard Nero interface, including speed settings etc.
