I have some files I ripped to the PC for editing and on a couple the audio is out of sync. The files were DVD recorder captures of a Satellite program.

The files are MpegII 720x480 VBR with AC3 2.0 audio at 256kps. I'm using Womble Mpeg-VCR and Womble Mpeg Video Wizard for the editing and it won't let me correct the sync problems unless I convert the audio to MPeg LayerII during demuxing.

Is there a tool that will let me correct the sync without converting the audio from AC3?

Thanks.

Try using the tools of Womble Mpeg Video Wizard to demux the video. Then take the demuxed streams and remux them again with Womble Mpeg Video Wizard. When you remux there's an option to change the A/V sync.

Note: When you demux Womble will save the audio as an .mpa file unless you change the name to .ac3, even if you allow the default of .mpa womble will know it's ac3 when you remux and won't re-encode the audio, it will still be AC3.

I hope that helps. Mike.
