View Full Version : Memory Leak?

Greetings,

Is anyone else experiencing a serious memory leak with TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress? Every time I encode and shut the program down, it leaves itself in RAM, sucking up to 120MB! Opening and closing the program does not do it; only after encoding.

I emailed Pegasys about the problem after the initial release, and they said they'd "look into it." Well, even after the most recent update, the problem still persists.

My rig:
2600+ Athlon
512MB RAM
Win XP SP2

Anyone else seeing this behavior?

So, no one else is experiencing this?

Yes, I've seen it here, too. Sometimes it will close as it should, sometimes it will seem to close but if I open Taskmanager it and the VFAPIServer are still listed in active processes, I have to manually kill them. I'm not sure why it only does it sometimes and not others, yet.

P4 1.7GHz, 1GB PC800 RDRAM, WinXP SP2, ATI All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro.

Thanks for the reply.

When I reported it to Pegasys they told me it was because it is optimized for Intel processors. Well, I guess your experience proves that wrong at least.

I've never had good experience with Pegasys tech support. They seem to be in the "blame anyone else" camp that a lot of companies employ for their support areas.
