Virtualdub / AVIMuxGUI AC3 question

Hey, I don't know if the situation's changed by now, but I've always heard that it's better to use AVImux GUI rather than Virtualdub or Nandub for any AC3 muxing. I use this for all my encodes, but I'm wondering if it's okay to use Virtualdubmod for splitting and joining already muxed videoclips.

I'd like to be able to join and split clips using direct stream copy mode, but I don't want to jeopardize the sound messing up. Does anyone think there would be a problem doing this?

AFAIK KISS Player had/have (?) some problems with AVIs muxed with AVImux GUI :o

well, every clip I've encoded with it has played fine for me off of burned DVD, so I'm not too worried about it. Then again, I haven't bothered updating since 1.14, so who knows.

Again, these are already muxed clips I'd be working with, everyone think it's okay for me to use Virtualdubmod to join different clips together?

Daphy: That should not occur after 1.15.6. If it still does occur with later versions, then send a b0rk report :) . Some players are too stupid to calculate 10,000,000 / 400,000 but can do 25/1 :oO
