I just bought JVC XV-NP10S and so far it has played everything I have thrown at it but all the videos were DivX. I want to back up some videos to XviD but I dont know if the player supports: Consecutive B-VOPS, Packed bitstream, Closed GOV, Trellis quantization and other advanced XviD options. Does anyone know what options are safe to use in XviD for DivX Certified Devices?

It's difficult to find settings that are really "safe", but suggested are:
- no more than 1 b-vops if packed-bitstream is used;
- closed GOV is safe AFAIK;
- Trellis is safe too;
- use h.264 or MPEG matrices only (many others works, but for maximum safety...);
- do NOT use GMC (3 warp points GMC is not supported by chipsets ATM)
- Qpel should be safe, as AQ; (you have to try though on your player)
That should be all! :)
