About 1.5 wks ago I tries some Memorex 8x DVD-Rs;they would not burn on my LG4120b at 8x so I tried 4x...DVDs would not play on standalone or on PC..could not even copy the vobs, etc. off the burned DVD..tried this on a bunch of standalones and various computers.
Now get this...yesterday my brother-in-law brings in some clone laptop with DVD-ROM. So I tried to copy the files mentioned above off. No go, same errors reading them (CRC). So now I decided to try and play the movies I made on his laptop. Guess what, using his Interactual Player (software player by Intervideo) all the stuff played FLAWLESSLY!!!!! I installed PowerDVD on his laptop but it would not play either. What would cause the Interactual Player (Intervideo) allow you to play this supposedly corrupt burn and yet I cannot copy the files off the DVD-R? This means to me that the DVD-R is not all that bad....would like to get the stuff off of it but do not know why; could be a good learning opportunity here.
Any ideas? I tried his Interactual Player 4 times on his laptop....playback perfect; cannot copy files off though. Would like to get the files back if they are not "really" corrupt.
